Inspiration

  • The Medical Tourism industry has greatly benefited India. Hence, It is an important growing area in India, with estimates that it will be worth $ 9 billion by 2030. This leads to scope for a platform that aids Medical Tourism.

What it does

  • We intended to make a platform where people from different geographical locations can explore and compare treatment costs at various hospitals in India and based on their budget and location requirements, choose the best option available.
  • This platform will also increase awareness about the concept of Medical Tourism. Medical Tourism is a rapidly growing domain, and our platform will help in contributing towards the same. Our Website could help increase the GDP.

How we built it

  • We were two members in the team Codesque and divided our work in three parts
  • The frontend part to make the website attractive
  • Accurate database of the hospitals in India, the treatments and their costs
  • Backend to help find the treatment our user is looking for and sorting the treatments according to their costs.

Challenges we ran into

  • This was the first time we worked on a backend project.
  • Collection of Data regarding Treatments and the Hospitals was a quite challenging task as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully completing our Backend integrated project
  • As a two member team, we managed to work on Frontend, Backend, make the database, work on the UI/UX and create the pitch presentation as well.

What's next for Med-Safar

  • Medical tourism has a vast untapped potential.
  • We can build more upon the UI/UX of the platform
  • Introduce more information on Medical Tourism
  • Expand our database to cover maximum hospitals in our country (or even expand to database of other countries as well).
  • We can also introduce a user review feature to help the other users make better decisions based on the data provided on our platform.
  • We can use an ML model for suggesting our users with the best fit choice.
