Why?
Our team participates actively in the medical club at our college, and we took inspiration from that and the initial sponsor challenges to propose something that could change lives.
What?
Our proposed software uses augmented reality glasses to analyze a patient, looking over their injuries and bringing up their medical records based on face recognition matching to their databases.
How?
We have designed our prototype concept in Figma, and we plan to implement our software with Python open source modules like opencv and face_recognition.
Challenges we ran into
Most of our starting hardware wasn't working, a significant part of our team wasn't experienced in Python, and we had a complicated concept development phase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We worked together as a team even though it was our first hackathon.
What we learned
We learned how to use Figma, how to cooperate better as a team, how some of the main libraries for doing face recognition work, and what engines are used to make AR experiences.
What's next for Med Assist?
We will try to fully flesh out the code and bring our project to fruition.
