About the Project Access to timely and accurate medical guidance is a major challenge. Doc AI was built to provide instant symptom analysis, AI-powered diagnosis, and expert health insights through a simple, user-friendly interface. By leveraging AI and automation, we aimed to make healthcare information more accessible and efficient.
Inspiration Our inspiration stemmed from the need for quick and reliable medical assistance without long wait times. Many people struggle with understanding symptoms and finding trustworthy information—Doc AI was designed to bridge this gap using AI-powered analysis and medical APIs.
What We Learned Leveraging AI APIs: We explored how pre-trained AI models can be effectively used via APIs for symptom checking, X-ray analysis, and skin condition detection. Optimizing API Calls: Since we relied solely on API calls, we learned how to handle responses efficiently and structure our backend to maximize performance. Rapid Prototyping: Working within a 36-hour hackathon helped us improve our problem-solving and development speed. How We Built It Frontend: Built using React and Tailwind CSS for a clean and responsive UI. Backend: Developed with Flask, making simple API calls to external AI-powered medical analysis services. API Integration: Used medical APIs for fetching symptom analysis, diagnosis predictions, and medical insights. Challenges We Faced API Limitations: Some APIs had rate limits or required specific input formats, making integration tricky. Ensuring Accuracy: Since we relied on third-party APIs, verifying the reliability of responses was essential. Time Constraints: Implementing multiple API-based features within a short timeframe was challenging but rewarding. Conclusion Doc AI successfully demonstrated how AI-driven medical insights can be delivered efficiently using simple API calls. The hackathon experience reinforced our belief that technology can make healthcare more accessible, and we’re excited to improve this project further! 🚀
