Inspiration
We both have chosen different branches of engineering for our majors, but we share a strong interest in the field of mechanical engineering. Given this common passion, we decided to brainstorm ideas within the realm of mechanical engineering to collaborate on a project.
During our exploration, we delved into the integration of technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), within the mechanical sector. Our research revealed substantial opportunities for innovation in this area. Interestingly, this idea struck a chord with me when I encountered an issue with the air conditioning system during a recent trip to Hamilton with my uncle.
Confronted with the problem, we attempted to find a solution, even if only temporary, to address the air conditioning problem in our vehicle. However, due to the specific specifications of our car, we struggled to locate a suitable solution. Fortunately, we stumbled upon a website that provided us with the information needed to successfully address the issue.
Drawing from this experience and fueled by our desire to modernize the mechanical sector, we conceived the idea of developing a chatbot. The purpose of this chatbot would be to assist individuals with automobile and vehicle repairs, offering instant, temporary solutions. Our aim is to provide users with valuable guidance, leveraging AI to revolutionize how people approach vehicle maintenance and repairs.
What it does
Individuals facing issues with their vehicles can seek assistance from our chatbot. The chatbot will systematically analyze the problem presented to it and provide a precise and reliable solution.
How we built it
We conducted extensive research on various datasets and successfully constructed the chatbot. Among our objectives was the deployment of the chatbot, with the intention of making it accessible on multiple platforms.
Challenges we ran into
Neither of us possesses professional programming skills, so we required additional support. This led us to discover Microsoft Azure, a cloud computing platform, which proved instrumental in aiding us with the programming aspect of our project. Despite our limited programming knowledge, we managed to independently handle all aspects of the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
During our journey, we came to a realization that Telegram stands out as a rapidly growing and highly popular social media platform on a global scale. With this insight, we proceeded to deploy our chatbot on the Telegram platform. I must admit, this accomplishment marked a significant milestone and a moment of immense success in our lives.
What we learned
Our journey has been incredibly enriching, exposing us to both the intricacies of mechanical systems and the complexities of software development. We garnered extensive knowledge in effectively addressing vehicle-related issues, while also delving deep into the realm of chatbots and artificial intelligence. This experience has broadened our horizons and equipped us with valuable insights on multiple fronts, empowering us to merge these diverse domains into a cohesive and impactful project.
What's next for Untitled
Our ambition extended beyond the initial deployment, as we aimed to enhance the chatbot's functionality and contribute meaningfully to the community. With this in mind, we are strategizing to incorporate advanced technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) and image processing. Additionally, we're exploring collaborations with mapping software to further amplify the bot's utility for users. This forward-thinking approach reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and making a positive impact with our creation.
