How we built: We summarize all the function of MRD(Mechanical Resuscitation Device), which includes tracking heart rate, does compressions, etc. Then, we made a frame diagram to design the appearance and clarifythe process. Build the hardware platform and insert the coding to control MRD up and down so that it can compress patients' chest via activating actuator.
Challenges we ran into: As we developed the MRD, some issues we ran into was:
- There are errors happen even if correct it many times when we were coding
- Struggle to combine with EKG
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
- Solve the error of coding
- fFigure out the electronic design and connection
- Make the machine look nicer
What we learned:
- For designing, we know how to clearly draw the diagram and design the appearance of robot
- For electronic, we make sense of the function of circuit
- For the software, we are familiar with coding
What's next for Mechanical Resuscitation Device:
- Can be combined with EKG and defibrillator​
- Can be applied in hospitals, retirement homes, and even emergency medical services
