Measurematics is a simple android app for measuring the height of buildings and other objects.

Inspired by a difficult physics lab with challenging measurements yes, we set out to find a better way to calculate height of projectile motion.

As it started coming together, we realized that Measurematics could also measure height of buildings and other objects easily.

Along the way we faced challenges and setting up difficult layouts in the Android ecosystem, passing data between intents, getting sensor value, and explaining processes to the user. Without prior knowledge of Android activities and intense, it was difficult to design a multi screen app. After looking through several tutorials, and reading online for a long time we were able to successfully communicate between screens. Another very difficult part was the integration of sensors. Android sensors give back unique values that do not directly correlate to position. We had to figure out how to take these values and calculate the angle of the device from them.
