Inspiration
1 in 6 Washington kids live in a household that faces challenges in putting enough food on the table (northwestharvest.org) and over 100 people in my high school depend on the free and reduced lunch program to obtain a good meal every school day. When I heard those numbers my jaw dropped and I wanted to create some way to compile all the resources available to people through local district meal pickups etc because when I looked online it was really hard to find information as each site had their own individualized schedules and ways to get information. It was difficult to be able to find COVID updates on food banks through a simple Google search with my location/city when I wanted to try and volunteer for their emergency efforts so then I thought what is it like for those who are trying to find these emergency efforts to be able to benefit from them and pickup food. Thus, I wanted to make a website to compile these options in one easy to find and use place.
