MCPS Safe Space

Inspiration

Our inspiration was the Our Minds Matter club that was recently established at our school.

What it does

This site has different tabs that take you to the general chat to anonymously chat with others on the site, a counselor page to talk directly to your counselor, a crisis center to get information about different ways to get help in a dire situation, journal entry to say what's on your mind without anyone seeing it, and daily quote.

How we built it

We built it using HTML, CSS, and Python

Challenges we ran into

connecting Python to the HTML code

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a functional navigation bar and integrating the chat

What we learned

Those who knew Python learned some HTML and those who knew HTML learned some Python.

What's next for MCPS Safe Space

We want to link the Python aspects to the HTML aspects and expand it to other counties.
