Inspiration

We wanted to create a simulator for this and it happens we all love eating at McDonald's!

What it does

Mcdonald's Drive Thru Simulator is an app to provide an example of a real life Mcdonald's Drive Thru experience. The app first asks whether or not the customer is there to order breakfast or not. If the customer chooses the breakfast option, a breakfast menu will appear. Likewise, if the customer selects "No," then other options will be provided. After selecting their order, the customer will then meet up with an employee at the window. At the window, the employee will give the order to the customer. ALSO, EVERYTHING IS FREE!!!

How we built it

To create our app, we used code.org's app lab feature. This allowed us to easily include graphics, while still being able to code in a language we understood.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, we planned to code this app using Java. However, we ran into a major issue; after many hours, we were not able to figure out how to import images into a Java console.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Therefore, we needed to use our resources. We decided to use JavaScript on code.org because we knew that the process of featuring graphics was much simpler.

What we learned

This was our first Hackathon/event like this in general. It was a great experience to work through the troubles we encountered to make this simulation.

What's next for McDonald's Drive Thru Simulator

To further improve on this simulator, we plan on creating a larger variety of foods on our menu. We would also not like to limit our customers to one item per order.
