Inspiration
I wanted to create a fun game that encourages competition. I thought of making a maze, but a regular maze wouldn’t be enough.. I needed to add more to it to make it challenging - and so instant loss walls and a timer were added! Only thing left to make it more annoying is a speed tracker to ensure you’re always moving!
What it is
It’s a maze where you navigate from the green tile to the red tile, making sure not to touch any walls or lift your finger/cursor! Your time is tracked, so be quick!
How it was built
It was built with Devvit Web, using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript for the client and Express with TypeScript for the server. User scores were stored in Redis. MS Paint and Figma were used for designing.
What's next for Maze of Doom
The next things I look forward to working on are:
- allowing mazes to be replayed
- adding more mazes
- increasing the size of the maze
- adding in instant-loss when your speed it too low
