What it does

HyperFix8 is a welcoming digital haven—a place to organize thoughts, showcase special interests, and collaborate with a curious community. This idea was born out of years of feeling discouraged when I tried to share the things that mattered most to me. Now, I’ve created the kind of validating space I always wished existed—where people can show up authentically, explore their passions, and connect with others who get it.

How we built it

I built HyperFix8 in just five hours.
With a clear vision and a detailed prompt, I collaborated with ChatGPT and brought my idea to life using Bolt.new. The process was intuitive and empowering—and now I have a beautiful, functional webpage to show for it. I did add a few modifications after the initial prompt, but my primary prompt components were as follows: -Initial Instructions: Build a web app- HyperFix8 (title) “Organize the chaos of curiosity.” (tagline) / "The target audience is neurodivergent individuals who want a safe, playful, and emotionally supportive space to collect, organize, explore, and showcase their special interests, niche interests, or unique hobbies" (intent) -Visual/UI Design: I described my vision, vibe, and specific elements as clearly as possible. I wanted monochromatic greens, soft, calming, and nature inspired. I wanted to evoke the sort of gentle, intrinsic curiosity of a child playing in the grass. -User Accounts: Created specifications for login/username info. Included instructions for an option to make profiles Public/Private. -Main Structure: How I wanted my webpage to function, specific elements regarding pages/folders -AI Assistant- Decided to wait to add this feature as part of a subscription service in the future -Collage/Scrapbook- A feature, Canva style instructions, drag and drop, specific editing tools and vibe -Community Features- Discussion board parameters, privacy settings. -Privacy/UX: Private/Public options, specific design for emotional regulation (gentle animations, no harsh contrasts)

Most of the tweaks were done afterwards noticing things that just weren't quite right. I was able to type in natural language directly into Bolt.new and modify those things efficiently. These changes included and icon switch, sub tagline text editing, connecting a database to store users uploaded media (Signed in with Supabase and Bolt.new instructed me every step of the way), changes to the Discussion Board feature (anonymous posting, editing/deleting posts and comments, sharing media), upgrades to the Visual Collage feature (more geared towards digital scrapbooking- crop, background erase, layering, text bubbles, etc)

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was crafting a strong, effective prompt. I had a clear vision, but I needed help refining the details. Once I identified all the necessary components, I used ChatGPT to fine-tune the text and bring everything together. This gave me a great starting point to build- but fine tuning was another challenge. I realized I needed to be much more specific and direct when providing instructions regarding the functionality of the features I wanted to implement. It was a bit of trial and error, but eventually I was able to achieve my desired outcome.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m deeply moved by how an idea in my mind became a real, working application in just one day. What excites me most is knowing I’ve created a calm, welcoming space—where people can feel seen, connect with others, and share what matters to them.

What we learned

With the right tools, even without a technical background, I realized I can breathe life into my ideas and turn vision into reality. It felt like unlocking a kind of magic I didn’t know I had access to. Building this app was just the first step, and it lit a spark in me- and I can’t wait to see where curiosity takes me next.

What's next for HyperFix8

I'd like to drive engagement to the webpage through social media, create a mobile app, and eventually monetize through ads and subscriptions. I plan to develop additional features that can be offered behind a paywall.
