Students lose money to fake rental listings every year. We wanted a simple way to check if a listing is real before paying.
What it does
Rental Guard analyzes photos, phone numbers, addresses, and known scam patterns to give a Green/Amber/Red risk score with a quick safety checklist.
How we built it
React + Node.js + SQLite, with TinEye and Google Maps for verification.
Challenges
Unstructured scam data and preventing fake positive reviews.
Accomplishments
A working risk engine and strong tester validation.
