Matthew Jordan's Hackerland Rock Festival App

Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and NodeJS linked with Twilio, I was able to make a webpage for the Hackerland Rock Festival. Twilio was used to send text updates to users.

What it does

Combines two prompts: Rock Festival and Twilio API. Takes Rock Festival fan data and sends them a text message confirming their seating preference.

How we built it

HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, and Twilio

Challenges we ran into

I was quite new to Twilio, so I had a bit of troubleshooting while I incorporated their JS code into my files. Also, I had difficulty importing and exporting between NodeJS and my other files.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Was able to use the Twilio codes in an env file and get the program to send me texts. I learned a lot more about NodeJS, and JavaScript functions from HTML forms.

What we learned

More Node functionality. Also, Twilio can offer businesses a tremendous communication advantage.

What's next for Matthew Jordan's Hackerland Rock Festival App

Finishing the weather.js file, which will update users via text if there's a 50+% chance of precipitation within 24 hours of the festival.
