Inspiration

The idea for Matrix has its origin in the idea of combining problem solving, storytelling and technical details in a way to present an appealing experience. Inspired by internet phenomena like Cicada 3301, we wanted to build a puzzle game that would require players to use their heads, use skills relevant in the real world and have fun decoding the enigma.

What it does

Matrix is a browser-based puzzle game that takes players on a journey through five increasingly challenging levels. Each level presents unique puzzles, such as decoding ciphers, interpreting clues, and solving logical problems, all set within immersive environments. The players are guided by using clues given by in-game character "Nexus"

How we built it

The game was developed using React for its responsive and interactive interface. Each puzzle was designed to balance difficulty with an enjoyable yet challenging experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of creating a game that effectively combines fun and learning. Watching players solve puzzles and have those “aha” moments has been incredibly rewarding.

What we learned

Building Matrix taught us the importance of balancing creativity and logic in game design. We gained insights into crafting puzzles that cater to diverse thinking styles and learned how to use technology effectively to create an engaging user experience.

What's next for Matrix

I plan to expand Matrix with more levels and diverse puzzle types. Adding multiplayer modes, time challenges, and leaderboards.
