Inspiration: I wanted to make music theory less intimidating and more interactive. Too many tools teach theory in isolation—my goal was to connect learning directly with creation.
What it does: MATILDA Music Theory combines an interactive piano, Circle of Fifths, chord breakdowns, and a beat machine into one platform. It helps users visualize keys and scales, practice chords, and create rhythms instantly.
How I built this: I designed and developed a responsive web app using modern frameworks for audio processing, visualization, and UI design. The piano, Circle of Fifths, and beat machine all run in sync, giving real-time feedback.
Challenges I ran into: Integrating real-time sound with smooth visuals was tricky. Designing an interface that is both beginner-friendly and helpful for advanced users also required iteration and testing.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of: I created a tool that makes music theory accessible to everyone. The seamless blend of education and creativity is something I’m especially proud of.
What I learned: I learned how valuable visual and interactive learning tools are for music education. I also deepened my understanding of intuitive UI/UX design.
What's next for MATILDA for Music Theory! I plan to add more sequence presets, an AI companion, recording features, and mobile support. Ultimately, MATILDA will become a go-to hub for learning, composing, and sharing music.
