Mathy

Inspiration

My inspiration for this app was from seeing how neglected some kids in underprivileged communities are and how much an app that teaches them math could help them.

What it does

It allows teachers, students and sponsors to connect by allowing sponsors to provide money to students for school supplies and it allows teachers to teach students via lessons and practices.

How we built it

I built it using Flatlogic.

Challenges we ran into

I ran into some trouble with the fact that the app would not allow the teachers to post lessons to the app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the fact that I was able to allow teachers to post lessons to the app and I am proud of the fact that even though this is my first hackathon I still found a way to make things work.

What we learned

I learned that maintaining focus is one of the most important elements to succeed in a hackathon.

What's next for Mathy

My hopes for Mathy are that new sponsors will come and see this idea and take interest in the less fortunate Americans and they will start helping more and more kids and I hope that more teachers will come and help kids as well so that we can start to make a better future with education for more people.
