Inspiration
MathSynth was inspired by the need for a fast, accurate, and mobile-friendly symbolic math tool. Many students and developers struggle with complex calculations like primitives, derivatives, factorizations, or series expansions—so we set out to build an app that makes advanced mathematics accessible to everyone.
What it does
MathSynth performs symbolic computations instantly, including primitives (integrals), derivatives, roots, factorizations, simplifications, decompositions, and full series developments. It provides accurate results with a clean and intuitive interface.
How we built it
We built MathSynth using a mobile framework combined with a symbolic mathematics engine capable of parsing and solving advanced expressions. The design focuses on speed, usability, and a smooth workflow for students and professionals.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges optimizing the symbolic engine for mobile performance, ensuring accurate parsing of complex expressions, and designing an interface that balances power with simplicity. Integrating multiple math features into a seamless user experience was also a key challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a lightweight yet powerful symbolic math tool that runs efficiently on mobile devices. We delivered accurate computations, fast rendering, and a user-friendly interface that simplifies even the most complex expressions.
What we learned
We learned how to optimize symbolic computation for mobile environments, improve UI/UX for technical users, and integrate multiple high-level math features without sacrificing performance.
What's next for MathSynth
Next, we plan to add step-by-step solutions, graphing capabilities, offline computation, AI-powered explanations, and support for more advanced symbolic operations. We aim to make MathSynth the most complete and accessible symbolic math assistant on mobile
