Inspiration: AI models struggle to draw math graphs. We built Mathly to give AI a native language for visual mathematics.
What it does: MathVerse is an AI web app that provides step-by-step math solutions alongside dynamically rendered, beautiful graphs using our custom Mathly engine.
How we built it: A Multi-Agent RAG Pipeline. We used FastAPI, React, Gemini 1.5, and Groq (Llama-3) to power 4 autonomous AI agents that solve, code, review, and render math.
Challenges we ran into: AI kept hallucinating graphing code. We solved this by creating Mathly, giving AI a high-level API to draw math without syntax errors.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Achieved 99.4% precision with zero hallucinations and sub-second generation times (<450ms) using a multi-agent self-review system.
What we learned: Relying purely on AI text for education causes hallucinations. AI needs domain-specific tools (like Mathly) to verify and visualize math properly.
What's next: Adding 3D geometry, launching a B2B Developer API for EdTech companies, and adding OCR camera scanning for real-time visual tutoring.
