Studying math can often feel tedious, but MathBites changes that. This engaging cooking game teaches essential math concepts in an interactive and fun way.

Inspiration

I was inspired by apps like IXL and Quizlet that can effectively teach you concepts in a quick quiz format.

What it does

MathBites is a fun game that asks questions about any math topic you want to study, centered around cooking and baking to relate to the baking theme, and allows you to answer using visual inputs that help you understand the concepts.

How we built it

I built it using intermediate web development skills in HTML, CSS, and JS.

Challenges we ran into

Generating adaptive questions that change and verifying user inputs was challenging, along with designing the whole interface, as I am a beginner/intermediate web development coder.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the sleek and fast UI and the adaptability and functionality of the game.

What's next for MathBites

I didn’t have the time to fully realize my vision of visually teaching users with elements like selectable pie chart answers or live area models, so I would love to implement this in the future. I would also like to introduce more concepts that MathBites can teach.
