Inspiration
My mom, she is a recess aide and substitute teacher.
What it does
Introduces a new way for students to develop their math skills
How we built it
typescript, javascript, react, html, css
Challenges we ran into
We hadn't taken a coding class in a year or so, so there was definitely rust to shake off. Coding wise the most difficult aspects was rendering the images so they were each their own element, and relearning setState for hiding images when clicked. Deploying on github pages was also a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to work through our challenges and eventually have a game of jenga, minus the structural integrity.
What we learned
We learned how valuable communicating with other groups can be, in terms of asking for help with software development, or help deploying the project on github.
What's next for Math Jenga
We want to be able to add classroom codes so classes can play together. We want to add accounts and accomplishments based on the number of points earned, such as unlocking different skins for the blocks. We want to be able to get the tower to 'fall'. We want to add animations for the pulling of blocks and falling of the tower.
