Chrome Dinosaur Game and Subway Surfers
What it does
The boat is stuck between 2 lanes of rocks. There are obstacles ahead, and you need to steer the boat left/right like in Subway Surfers so that you don't hit any of the obstacles. If you hit enough, your health drops to 0 and you sink. You can pick up repair kits along the way to recover some health, but they don't have a guaranteed spawn interval unlike the obstacles, so you're gonna need some luck.
How we built it
Models made in Blender by Sam, scripts in Unity C# by Arian, music by Arian
- Lots and lots of online tutorials (aka googling)
Challenges we ran into
Working with the camera without making it move erratically took quite a bit of work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The entire game was made with our assets.
What we learned
- Scripting in Unity C#
- Setting normals in Blender
What's next for Matey Rex
Probably very light camera rotation controls, limited to facing forward, but helps make it more immersive. Currently, the camera only pans, but can't be rotated
