Inspiration
The alarming statistics surrounding maternal health—over 40 million women facing health issues annually and a maternal death every two minutes—highlight the urgent need for better healthcare solutions. Many first-time mothers struggle with tracking symptoms, understanding pregnancy norms, and accessing timely care, particularly in underserved communities. Our mission was to create an accessible, AI-driven solution to empower mothers with knowledge, support, and better healthcare outcomes.
What it does
Maternity & Baby Hub is an AI-powered platform that:
Tracks maternal and baby health symptoms in real-time. Provides personalized health insights and recommendations. Offers mental health support through guided relaxation and mindfulness techniques. Features a chatbot for instant answers to queries about pregnancy and postnatal care. Enables virtual consultations with healthcare professionals.
How we built it
Frontend: React.js for an intuitive user interface. Backend: Node.js and Express.js for API integration and database management. Database: MongoDB Atlas for secure and scalable data storage. AI: LandBot for the chatbot and custom algorithms for health tracking and symptom analysis. Deployment: Currently hosted locally; plans for cloud deployment are underway.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring AI algorithms provided accurate, reliable recommendations for sensitive health conditions. Addressing data privacy concerns and securely managing health data. Overcoming deployment challenges for scalability and live testing. Debugging API integrations and resolving errors for seamless functionality.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully implemented AI-driven symptom tracking and chatbot functionality. Developed a full-stack platform that combines health tracking, mental health support, and virtual consultations. Resolved critical errors and learned to handle API integration effectively. Built a solution with the potential to improve maternal health outcomes on a global scale.
