Inspired to help expectant mothers give birth to healthy babies and reduce the rate of maternal mortality.
What it does
It educates expectant mothers about their different stages of pregnancy and respective institutions to visit through their pregnancy period.
How we built it
We chose to build for the web because this way we can have one code-base and use tools like PhoneGap to deploy on multiple mobile platforms. We used tools like bcrypt and passport for data security and password hashing. We also implemented a chatbot for doctor-patient interaction
Challenges we ran into
- Learning a new tool and trying to make the best out of it and stay on schedule.
- We had more bugs than we had components to implement.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to build all the core functionalities of the application.
What we learned
We learnt how to work under pressure in a competent activity platform, as well as working in a team with different ideas gathered together.
What's next for MaterniCare
Touching Up on the styling and few improvements in the chat room in terms of style. We might probably implement other functionality on the platform as we going forward.
