Inspiration

We were inspired by the need for a simpler, more connected way to manage everyday pregnancy wellness. Instead of tracking meals, medications, activity, and health readings separately, MATRENA brings them together to help users understand their wellness journey and stay better connected with healthcare guidance.

What it does

MATRENA AI 2.0 helps users manage pregnancy wellness in one place by tracking nutrition, prescribed medications, physical activity, and maternal health trends, while providing an AI-assisted interface for personalized guidance and easier daily monitoring.

How we built it

MATRENA AI 2.0 was developed as a web-based healthcare prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with an AI-assisted conversational interface and interactive dashboards. We integrated modules for nutrition, prescribed medication adherence, physical activity, and maternal health trends, presented through a unified, user-friendly interface.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in designing a user-friendly healthcare interface, organizing multiple wellness modules into one platform, integrating AI-assisted interaction, and presenting health data as meaningful trends while keeping the system safe, simple, and aligned with healthcare-provider guidance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a functional MATRENA AI 2.0 prototype that unifies nutrition, prescribed medication adherence, physical activity, and maternal health trends into one platform. We’re especially proud of creating an AI-assisted, user-friendly experience with interactive tracking and visualization focused on making pregnancy wellness more organized and accessible.

What we learned

We learned how to combine AI, web development, and healthcare-focused UX into a practical solution. We also learned the importance of clear data visualization, user-friendly design, personalization, and responsible healthcare technology that supports—not replaces—professional medical guidance.

What's next for Materna_AI

Our next steps are to expand MATRENA AI with wearable-device integration, longitudinal health tracking, provider dashboards, appointment management, and secure patient–provider data sharing. We also aim to improve the AI assistant while maintaining a strong focus on privacy, safety, and clinician-guided care.
