NFL fans have plenty of information but often struggle to know which information matters for a specific play. You wanted something different from a generic AI prediction or sportsbook pick generator. The core idea became decision intelligence for an exact play.

Challenges we ran into

live NFL scores became stale browser caching caused outdated game state Gemini 3.8 returned 503 high demand The app initially fell back silently, making it look like Gemini was not working local package/Git configuration needed cleanup Ambiguous input such as Mahomes over 300 needed to be handled without guessing

Accomplishments that we're proud of

complete end-to-end working POC deterministic scoring stays independent from AI-generated language The application explicitly exposes uncertainty instead of hiding it

AI model fallback shared scoring logic between homepage picks and individual analysis bright editorial interface rather than a generic chatbot

What we learned

Raw data → normalized data → relevant features → deterministic signals → confidence → AI explanation

How to move raw data from one pipeline to another and properly filter the data for the application purpose, and also convert it into readable JSON format
