Match Spaces | Feature Design

Inspiration

Inspiration came from researching Match and other dating apps, as well as talking with users (our friends who volunteered), and Match's goal of connecting people.

What it does

Match Spaces allows Match app users to check in to an event, such as a music festival. Once checked in, they can connect with verified users who are also attending the event.

How we built it

After reading Match's challenge, we conducted research to identify user pain points related to online dating. Research included market analysis and brief user interviews. From there, we identified a broad opportunity: _ How might we connect people with similar interests? _

Challenges we ran into

• Not having access to Match's design system • "Match Events" already exists, so we couldn't name our feature that.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Creating an MVP to solve the problem. • Building a prototype to help stakeholders understand the solution

What we learned

• Match's business goals and place in the market • Want and needs of dating app users

What's next for Match App Feature Design

• "Create Space" button for users to create custom events for singles to match at, such as ballroom dances or house parties • Web App integration
