Inspiration
Women’s communities are everywhere, but finding and joining the right ones is often a challenge. I was inspired to create a unified platform where women can easily discover and connect with communities that support their ambitions, foster meaningful connections, and drive growth.
What it does
SheConnect is the world’s first unified archive and discovery engine for women’s communities. It allows users to:
- Instantly search and explore women-focused groups, events, and resources
- Filter communities by interest, region, or type of support
How I built it
Everything on the frontend was vibecoded using Bolt. I kicked things off by importing my Figma file, then just started propping, tweaking, and coding by vibe. Had lots of rapid iterations, and making it feel good as I went.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Developed a working prototype during the hackathon
- Designed an accessible and inclusive user interface
- Received positive feedback from early testers about usability and impact
What I learned
- The power of removing barriers to community discovery
- The importance of inclusive, accessible design
- How to vibecode, As a software engineer, I usually overthink structure, but Bolt made it easy and fun by handling edge cases and UX for me, so I could focus on shipping and stay productive.
What's next for SheConnect
- Integrate the MongoDB database(created it already)
- Complete backend integration(Fast API)
- Add semantic search and AI embeddings to make the app functional
- Expand the database with more global and niche communities
- Continuously improve search, filters, and user experience based on feedback
Built With
- bolt
- nextjs
- react
