​## Inspiration : I saw many elderly people struggling to read small text on medicine labels and feeling overwhelmed by complex smartphone screens. I want to create a "digital eye" that makes them feel independent again.

​## What it does : MataBantu AI uses the Gemini 3 camera to read text aloud, identify household objects, and provide simple voice guidance to help seniors navigate digital apps without confusion.

​## How we built it : The project is powered by the Gemini 3 Pro Preview model via Google AI Studio, utilizing its advanced multimodal (vision and text) capabilities.

​## Challenges we ran into : The main challenge was simplifying the AI's complex technical output into very simple, easy-to-understand Indonesian words for senior citizens.

​## Accomplishments that we're proud of : Successfully creating a prototype that can accurately turn a blurry image of a medicine bottle into a clear voice instruction.

​## What we learned : We learned how powerful Gemini 3's vision reasoning is and how much of a difference simple AI tools can make for the elderly community.

​## What's next for MataBantu AI : I plan to add a specialized "Emergency SOS" voice command and support for more local Indonesian dialects to reach more seniors in rural areas.
