MASKS is an interactive mystery prototype where characters observe, believe and know different things. The bundled scene, Short Count, takes place in a ferry office with a cash box, a clerk who saw something, a deckhand with a secret and an inspector who has only been told.

A deterministic epistemic-state engine tracks who witnessed or learned each fact. A server-side NVIDIA Nemotron integration is configured to generate character dialogue from permitted knowledge. An independent guard checks generated lines for forbidden information and retries or falls back to scripted dialogue; without a key, scripted responses are labeled.

The guard uses pattern matching and can miss or over-flag paraphrases; it does not prove freedom from information leaks. Live project-specific inference and player testing remain unverified. The demonstration is a narrated screenshot walkthrough, not a live interaction.
