Inspiration
One of the horrors in our current situation is the terrible shortage of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) in hospitals and other healthcare organizations. Doctors, nurses, caregivers don't have enough masks, face shields, sanitizers. Going to work they risk their lives and lives of their families. We need to urge people and companies to make protective gear and other equipment that hospitals need, but there are so many organizations that need help and so many people and companies that want to help. We need an easy to use, searchable database and phone app to make collaboration possible.
What it does
Allow healthcare organizations ger so much needed supplies from companies, and individuals.
How I built it
We need a phone app and a web-based database with map visualization to inform people about shortages of protection equipment in healthcare organizations. As for now, we only have an Instagram Account and a basic website with a map and a searchable table on https://www.masksforheroes.com
Challenges I ran into
We need tech-savvy collaborators, most of the volunteers who work on the projects are mommy bloggers.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are helping hospitals get so much needed masks and other PPE. We just need to make it automated and fully functional ASAP, the lives of our doctors and nurses depend on it.
