Problem

Many Europeans still feel scared when they see someone wearing a mask. The masker cannot show his good intentions with a smile. I am convinced that more people would voluntarily wear a mask if they didn't feel suspiciously eyed.

Solution

Start a social peer to peer campaign to awake the sensibility to our contacts that wearing a mask is not for protecting oneself but protecting others. The ":D"-signet can easily be sketched or pinned at our masks to promote the concept and make our masks friendlier, it is a sort of "mind hack". The "D" can easily be interpreted as a mask and a smile. The hashtag #MaskerAid stands for the help given by maskers and mask-makers.

Value beyond the crisis

The Corona pandemic will not be the last pandemic. Also, the annual flu is dangerous for people at risk. It should become common habit to wear a mask when feeling ill and it should also become socially accepted like in Asian countries.
