Inspiration
The inspiration came when I decided to make my own masks in a hot summer. The materials used were clothing taken from a second hand store, rubber bands and tape. The outcome was it lasted for only a few days and I went on to find a better solution but there are little communities available to help
What it does
Business Case: This application allows searching of mask solutions and latest mask making methods
Step 1: Search for mask type and how to make them
Step 2: Find the mask origin and view through the map
Step 3: The user can discover new mask making communities using our recommendation system
Step 4: The user could form his / her own communities using the application for tips on getting better masks
How I built it
The application was built using node js framework, javascript, google firebase, google cloud
Challenges I ran into
The integration of different technologies to make an application fully functional was challenging
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud in building an emergency response community which renders help to mask masking beginners
What I learned
I learned about new technology providers such as web APIs and rapid prototyping of this application to improve social health
What's next for mask-up
The application would be further scaled as a travel and health community for users to get masks wherever they are.
