Inspiration

After covid situation came in control, most people have stated taking it for granted by not wearing masks and not maintaining the social distancing, so we thought of making a project which can make a shopkeeper or the person using it aware of the person not following the social distancing and not wearing mask.

What it does

It will detect if the person is wearing a mask or not and if he is maintaining the social distancing. It will detect the person and show if he is wearing mask or not and if the person is maintaining social distancing or not. It also collect images of faces of people and provides the data in a folder.

How we built it

We build it using python, Google Colab.

Challenges we ran into

Since we were using python and Google Colab for the first time, so we face difficulties training model and learning about scripts.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to train model and detect mask and without mask person in a video as well as in a still photo.

What we learned

We learnt about how to train model and use python.

What's next for Mask-and-Social-distancing-detector

We will try to make a system such that it can detect if a person is wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing in real time and if a person is not doing so, that the owner will be notified about the person with his image and strict actions can be taken against him. It is collecting images of faces of people so we will try to upload the data that we get from here to our database and detect the person and see if he was maintaining social distancing or not.
