Mask Alert

Inspiration

There have been times when I found myself forgetting my mask before I leave the house. Hence, I have written this code as a reminder tool.

What it does

It is able to detect the presence and absence of a face mask and alert the individual to wear a mask by showing 'Wear Mask' on the screen.

How I built it

I built it with the aid of youtube videos using Python software and a free Cascade Trainer GUI.

Challenges I ran into

I am new to coding and it was difficult to correct errors in the code.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Coding this .py program.

What I learned

Python and the difficulties that programmers face in their work.

What's next for Mask Alert

Refining the code to allow for better detection and a cleaner look. It will be nice if people will find the software useful in their daily lives on their phones/webcam.
