MASALA - Gamified Learning Tool

Inspiration

We were inspired by the current lack of innovative thinkers in today's world, primarily due to traditional, less engaging learning methods. We wanted to create a platform that helps learners absorb information in an easy and fun way, making learning both effective and exciting.

What it does

MASALA is a gamified learning portal designed to enhance innovation and creativity by transforming the learning process into an engaging, game-like experience. It helps learners with different styles (like kinetic, amicable, etc.) and tracks their engagement in subjects, extracurricular activities, and more.

How we built it

We used gamification techniques such as levels, rewards, and interactive tasks to motivate learners.
We integrated learning modules inspired by Indian desi culture and games like Flappy Bird to teach skills like pitching and singing methods.
We focused on building a community platform where incubators connect with problem solvers, offering real-time solutions.

Challenges we ran into

User engagement tracking: It was difficult to create a system that accurately tracks and adapts to various learning styles.
Game-based learning structure: Designing an educational experience that balanced fun with valuable learning outcomes was tricky.
Content development: Integrating meaningful content while maintaining the entertainment aspect required careful planning.
