Inspiration

We came up with this idea after looking at the requirements for track 2. We knew we wanted to do something that includes not only some sort of horror aspect, but an emotional aspect as well, something that resonates with the player and makes the player truly think about the decisions they have to make.

What it does

The project we created is one that challenges your ethical choices and the morality of those choices. The project is a storyline project where the player (you) and your partner have crash-landed on a planet after their ship has malfunctioned. The player’s partner has left, leaving the player (you) to follow after them. Along this journey, the player will be forced to make ethical decisions that would be critical to their journey forward, but beware, after all, this is a survival game, and only those with a pure heart can survive till the very end, and even then, it's not always a happy ever after.

How we built it

We build this on VS Code using a Git repository. We have a LocalHost website with animations and audio background to create a deep dive into the aestetics. We used mainly TypeScript and CSS for implementation.

Challenges we ran into

We spent a lot of time figuring out the UI and background aspects (animations, music). Planning the idea that could be executed in only 24 hours was a separate challenge but in the end of the day we overcame that together as a team.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of making a full project in such a short time, whicle implementing new skills and languages. We also pushed ourselves to establish a coherent design. We challenged our communication skills and grew together professionally.

What we learned

We learnt the process of creating a design and how to coordinate and implement ideas while executing at the same time. We learnt how to better our communication and resolve time management issues.

What's next for Marzanna Hunt

Creating hands on animation parts where the user can move objects around and choose the setting and allow for more choices (binary searches) and maybe look into the data structures aspect more.
