Inspiration
I just wanted to build an app for myself where I can see where I have been in the whole day. Just to have the sheer fun of it.
What it does
It shows you in the google map where you have been in the whole day.
How I built it
Using Google Maps API in Android Studio
Challenges I ran into
Making the Poly line continuous as the device moves. Initially I faced trivial problems like when the user rotates the screen, the whole line just goes off. Poof. It was a easy fix thou. Got to learn that today.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I finally managed to draw the line as the device starts moving without much resources used up.
What I learned
A lot about Maps API and few interesting things to spy on people. :p
What's next for MarkMe
I want to make it more useful by adding different functionalities like sharing the map with a friend. Let's say I went to an unknown place and I wanted to mark all the places that I have been starting from my hotel. Now since I have map shown clearly as to where am I now and where my hotel is, I will have no problem on my way back. I can share this map with a friend who might be in that place one day and needs a little help for navigating around.
