Brief
Inspiration
The other week, one of our team members was walking through a market and realised how much marketplaces bring together local communities and help local business sell their products. Markets are extremely versatile buying areas that have a range of products from food to clothes to paintings.
COVID19 has caused a lot of market-based stalls to struggle and subsequently, quite a few markets have still not opened for almost a year. Not only are markets a huge part of the community but, they also preserve immense amounts of history as they have been a trading platform for decades. Hence, why we wanted to preserve this spirit online through 'MarketPlace'.

What it does
Marketplace is an online market platform that allows local businesses to sell their products similar to how a market would run. There is a chatbox feature to communicate with sellers as well as tours of the market.
How we built it
We built it using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap for the website. We also used Figma to plan out our website.
Our Takeaways
Challenges we ran into
It was a struggle finding team members as well as time zones and the ability to finish the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have created a rough website of what have envisioned. We also proud that we were able to communicate effectively during the short time.
What we learned
We learned how to partition out tasks effectively between ourselves as well as finish a project within tight time.
What's next for MarketPlace
We plan to improve the UI, finish our chatbox feature, add an AR market as well as create an algorithm that suggests market stalls based on user interest.
