Inspiration

We were inspired by the chaos of the farmers market and we wanted to create support for local businesses in San Luis Obispo. The farmers market is a core part of SLO’s identity, and making an app to streamline the experience from both customer, and vendor perspectives was a fun task to take on!

What it does

This app allows customers to place orders before the market or while attending. Not only this but vendors can track their analytics to see trends and prepare for future markets. They can also announce the return of stock or new items.

How we built it

We used figma to create wireframes and generate a prototype.

Challenges we ran into

Only one of us has participated in hackathons previously, and working in a duo meant there was a lot to get done in a short period of time. We settled upon our concept very quickly which gave us more time to focus on building everything out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We got a lot done in the time we were supplied! Our product turned out to be rather versatile in the problems it tackles, and many of its functions work cohesively with the other parts of the app. We are happy with how streamlines the processes of the app feel.

What we learned

One of our group members had never participated in an event like this, and had limited Figma experience. This was a fantastic opportunity to gain more experience working with these platforms, and the pressure-cooker environment of the hackathon was the perfect situation to learn QUICK.

What's next for marketIQ

We plan to refine the content and make it accessible to every vendor and customer. We want this project to have more functionality in the future.
