Inspiration
The inspiration for the website came from our experience volunteering at a farmers’ market. It was difficult for the vendors to get customers as not many people were going outside. Thus, we created this website so that people will be able to see what is happening in their community.
What it does
The website allows users to discover what farmer’s markets are in their neighbourhood by simply inputting their postal code. The website also shows important information pertaining to the markets such as location, time and dates. Users will also be able to view vendors present at each market.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges with the layout of the website. It was hard to determine the design of the website because we both lack experience in that particular area.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a functioning prototype and website under time constraints.
What we learned
We learned that time management is very important as we did not have a lot of time to plan, design, and create a prototype.
What's next for Market Map
One feature we would like to implement is being able to click on the vendor to view what specific products they will be selling and provide vendor information like social media accounts and websites.
