Endangered animal doesn’t just live on the ground, they also live in the sea

What it does

it's Machine-learning-powered application that helps tracking illegal hunting of endangered marine creatures like the blue wheal, Dugongs, Sharks and Turtles.

Our project Marine Savior consists of two parts

The first of them is tracking the movements of ships in real-time

There are multiple sources that provide such information in real-time

This is called AIS(Automatic Identification System)

All ships have to transmit their location and name via radio signals using the AIS systems

Poachers also do transmit their AIS data because if they didn't do so they might be stopped by marine police as an unknown ship.

The second part is tracking endangered marine life animals

we can do this in two ways

move bank is non-profitable websites that provide tracking data for different animals around the world

we can use its API to create tracks and heat maps representing the animal movements.

we can also build our own protected areas based on information about the animal such as where it hunts its food, Seasonal breeder location, migration path or location of natural reserves, and so on.

All this information can be found at worldwildlife.org

so now we have two maps.

A map showing ship movements

And a map showed places where the animal usually be

Our Machine learning model will detect abnormal sail movement in the protected areas and automatically inform local authorities about it

This web app will track unusual vessel movements in protected places where rare animals live, indicating an illegal fishing
