Inspired by its beauty and potential, Marine Minds was born to bridge the gap between curiosity and awareness. With the alarming rate of marine degradation and lack of public engagement with oceanic topics, our project aims to foster a deeper connection with the underwater world through gamification, education, and innovation.

What it does

Marine Minds is an interactive platform designed to educate, entertain, and engage users with the wonders of the ocean:

  • Games: Immerse in roles like marine biologist, scuba diver, and lifeguard to learn about ocean conservation and challenges.
  • Marine Mysteries: Explore enigmas like the Bermuda Triangle and deep-sea phenomena.
  • News Section: Stay updated with global developments related to oceans.
  • Virtual Labs: Conduct hands-on experiments, such as simulating ocean acidification or wave formation.
  • Dive In Feature: Experience the ocean's beauty through visual auto-scrolling and submarine-led exploration.

How we built it

  • Frontend: Developed using React.js for an engaging and intuitive interface.
  • Backend: Powered by Node.js and Express, ensuring a robust API and smooth performance.
  • Database: Managed using MongoDB for seamless data storage and retrieval.
  • 3D Models: Integrated with Three.js and Unity to create immersive underwater environments.
  • Hosting: Deployed using Netlify for the frontend and Render for the backend.
  • APIs: Leveraged Cloudinary API for efficient image management.

Challenges we ran into
