Inspiration
With our submission, we wanted to try and teach people about investments and stocks.
What it does
The game teaches people who are new to stocks and investment. It displays several tickers for the user to put their money into, and gives them feedback as to how their investment did after a set amount of time, which they get to choose.
How we built it
We created a backend API using Flask and Elastic Beanstalk. For the front-end, we used Bootstrap and integrated it into our front-end in order to pull data. We also used Chart.js in order to display the data in a visual format which was clear to understand.
Challenges we ran into
There were some difficulties with Bootstrap and trying to align elements properly, but we eventually managed to align it in a somewhat clean format.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were proud of our API, our overall polish, and being able to create this project under the time constraint that we had.
What we learned
We learned how to pull stock data out of public APIs.
What's next for Marginal Investment
We feel as if we could add more potential sections, such as Pensions.
