Inspiration :
Margdarshak was inspired by the everyday challenges people face while traveling in unfamiliar areas — confusion in navigation, safety concerns, and lack of real-time guidance. In busy urban environments, especially for students and solo travelers, finding safe routes and reliable assistance becomes difficult. The idea was to build an AI-powered companion that not only helps users navigate but also ensures safety and confidence during their journey.
What it Does :
Margdarshak is an intelligent travel guidance platform that provides smart navigation, location assistance, and emergency support features. It helps users:
Navigate efficiently using map-based guidance
Access important nearby locations quickly
Receive smart travel assistance
Use SOS emergency features for safety situations
The goal is to make travel smarter, safer, and stress-free.
How We Built It:
The project was developed using a modern web tech stack. We designed an interactive UI and integrated real-time location services with APIs for maps and data handling. Backend services manage user data, authentication, and emergency functionality, while the frontend focuses on a clean and responsive user experience.
Challenges We Faced:
Integrating real-time location and map APIs smoothly
Managing API keys and environment configurations
Designing a responsive interface for multiple devices
Ensuring reliable emergency feature handling
These challenges helped us improve our understanding of API integration, debugging, and system design.
What We Learned:
Through building Margdarshak, we learned:
Real-world API integration and deployment workflows
Frontend–backend coordination
UI/UX design principles for usability
Problem-solving under practical development constraints
Future Scope:
In the future, we plan to add:
AI-based route safety prediction
Voice assistant navigation
Community-based alerts
Advanced emergency response integration
