Inspiration
What inspired us was seeing how much Chemical products had decreased in economic impact from 2012 to 2023 so we thought it would be interesting to see the changes of a bigger economy.
What it does
Analyzes the volatitlity and normalizes this to see how stable certain industries are.
How we built it
Use python to visualize the code and made a new excel file to host only our required data. Used Gen AI to help with some un-known code.
Challenges we ran into
Code continually failed as we had little experiance with the visualization tools that we found for python.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Have multiple visualizaitons that all come together to paint a clearer picture as to how industries change.
What we learned
We learned that specific industries tend to sway a lot throughout the years and seem to generally be reliant on one or two other industries while also seeing that some industries remain almost completly stable.
What's next for Mapping Volatility in the US Space Economy
Seeing how the subgroups of each industry effect the industry as a whole and how their indiviudal swayings can cause a bigger ripple in the parent industry and subsequently others.
