Lack of geographical data for disease outbreaks
What it does
Display geographical data of disease outbreaks from user data.
How we built it
I used NodeJS with the express framework for the backend and html + css for the front end. I used mapbox to display the interactive map.
Challenges we ran into
I attempted to use geocoding so that it uses addresses rather than coordinates but I was unable to implement it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I like how the map displays cases on it and the look of the website.
What we learned
EJS, Mapbox, and more about html, css, and other frontend things.
What's next for Mapdemic
Add more features, implement a way to use government statistics, implement geocoding, and make it available to the public.
