In shopfloor we have some machines that validate the quality of the end product. These machines validate the quality after the end product is manufactured. Here the problem is if there is anything wrong on the product quality then we need to re-manufacture the product or its parts again. This creates following challenges: Re-work on creating the products/parts. For example: if a part is required to be 10.2 ft in length and quality machine finds that the product manufactured has incorrect part dimension say 10.45 ft then that part has to be re-created and product has to be re-designed. Wastage of resources required to create the part/product. Cost impact due to re-work.

Proposed Solution: Implement following steps: Step 1: Identify the task that quality machines perform. Step 2: Map those tasks to the individual machines i.e. identify each machine that is responsible for that quality task. Step 3: Capture those machine data real time and validate the data before incorrect product/part is manufactured by that machine. For example: machine needs to identify what task it is performing and if outcome is not as per desired parameter then machine should stop manufacturing immediately to avoid wastage of raw material.

Advantage for the employees or operations in a production plant:

Avoid incorrect product/part manufacturing. Save extra efforts required to redo the manufacturing of the product/part. Manufacturing cost savings due to extra work.
