Inspiration
When I first came to Manipal it was difficult for me to navigate through the first couple of months there as I came alone and did not know anyone there. So from there the idea of an app that would act as a guide for students came into the picture.
What it does
ManipalLocals is an android application that contains all the information required by a fresher for the first couple of months in the college.
How I built it
ManipalLocals was build using the flutter framework in android studio. It has firebase authentication, storage and database integrated into it. All the data in the app is uploaded on Firebase-Firestore and can be changed at any time.
Challenges I ran into
ManipalLocals is my first app so there were many challenges that I faced. Whether it be solving a bug or unloading tons of data, I had a lot to learn.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
ManipalLocals currently has over 1.2k downloads only after a few months of launch.
What I learned

- Solving issues at the production level
