In this digital dating age, we've recognized a common challenge: the initial talking stage can often lead to fizzled connections. To tackle this issue, our innovative dating app does away with prolonged chats and takes a refreshing approach. Instead, users select from a range of carefully curated venues and events for their dates, each meticulously planned by our team. Once chosen, our matchmaking algorithm pairs users who've selected the same venue or event, fostering authentic connections without the stress of planning a date. It's a novel way to bring back the magic of traditional dating, recreating a more relaxed and genuine atmosphere for meaningful connections in today's digital world. Say goodbye to endless texting and hello to real, enjoyable dates.

What it does

Our user-friendly app begins by inviting users to create a concise profile, where they provide essential details about their availability, preferred venues, and dating preferences. Following this, users gain the exciting opportunity to choose from a thoughtfully curated list of dating venues and events offered by our app. Once users express their interest in a particular event, they enter a matchmaking pool, where our proprietary matching algorithm, powered by Intersystem's cutting-edge IntegratedML platform, works its magic to pair them with compatible potential dates. It's a streamlined and efficient way to connect individuals based on shared interests and preferences, enhancing the overall dating experience.

How we built it

We built this app using a Flask backend connected to a Intersystems database and a frontend built in React and Tailwind CSS.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into several challenges setting up our tables correctly, figuring out how to configure our ML models, and designing our website in a clean and simple manner. Ultimately, we worked hard and figured it out! :)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of learning how to build a real full-stack application and successfully understanding how to put all the components together.

What we learned

We learned how to build and run ML models using InterSystems IRIS Cloud IntegratedML. We then processed data from potential daters and incorporated this into our data.

What's next for Manifest

In the future, we aim to introduce advanced matching algorithms that take into account a broader range of parameters, ensuring an even more precise and tailored matchmaking experience. Additionally, we'll continue to innovate by creating events that cater uniquely to our daters, further increasing opportunities for meaningful connections.
