Inspiration

The anime community is vast, and we aim to sort it by helping users choose the right manga for them through left and right swipes.

What it does

Manga4u is essentially Tinder for manga lovers. You can read descriptions of each manga and learn about different authors. By swiping left or right, you can select your favorite manga. Powered by AI, the app also provides personalized content and manga recommendations.

How we built it

We developed Manga4u using Next.js 13, Tailwind CSS, Redux-Toolkit, Redux-Persist, and SplideJs.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in maintaining a huge dataset for different manga and ensuring consistency in the JSON format.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have completed and deployed the first phase of our application on Vercel. Further refinements and the integration of new parameters will enhance personalization in manga selection for anime lovers.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate generative AI for personalization and how to bring an idea from a dating application like Tinder to life for manga selection.

What's next for Manga4u

We plan to continue developing the app with a better UI, more enhanced features, and a larger selection of books. We also aim to incorporate anime to create a comprehensive community for manga and anime lovers.
